Implants are a titanium screw that is used in place of a missing tooth.  Over time, your body heals and the bone becomes integrated and very solid around an implant.

Does the procedure hurt?

The technique we use is relatively simple and less invasive than an extraction. Most people feel pressure and a mild discomfort for and day or two which is easily managed with regular pain relief medication.

How long do they last?

Once attached to the bone, implants can last a very long time.  Longer than any other tooth replacement option available.  Currently it is not uncommon to see an implant which is 20-30 years old!  You can still develop gum disease around an implant which could jeopardize its longevity, so they must still be maintained. Like all dental treatment, good oral and physical health is a factor in their life expectancy.

How much do they cost?

Implants range from $1000 - $2500.  Insurance companies may or may not cover a portion of the cost and vary with each individual insurance plan.
